Why delve
into Africa’s roots?
In prehistoric times, the first sentient beings, or Homo sapiens, emerged on the African continent. Indeed, many regard this land as the very cradle of humankind. Across Africa, countries and cities bear the indelible marks of ancient civilizations, the medieval era, and the epoch of colonization. Embarking on a journey through Africa offers a unique opportunity to witness a vibrant tapestry woven from diverse cultures, religions and traditions. Beyond its indigenous heritage, the continent also preserves the legacies of the Portuguese, French, Germans, and British. The influence of both Christianity and Islam is clear throughout the region. Africa is a land where biblical legends seem to echo, a place that remembers both King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba. The eastern coast of Africa carries the distinct imprint of Swahili culture, with the major port city of Mombasa in Kenya serving as an interesting testament to this.

Mombasa’s historic heart, a captivating labyrinth of narrow alleyways, commands particular attention. Intricate ornamentation adorns the architecture here, reflecting combining Arab, Indian, and African artistic traditions. Visitors can explore a Hindu temple and the venerable Portuguese fortress, Fort Jesus. 30 kilometers from Mombasa, nestled along a picturesque bay, lie the ruins of the city of Jumba la Mtwana. Here, time seems to stand still, and the pristine white sands evoke images of coastal Kenyans who walked this very shore centuries ago, much as we do today. In the tropical thickets near Malindi, the enigmatic Ruins of Gedi stand as a testament to a bygone era. The reasons for this ancient city’s demise remain an unsolved mystery.

The enchanting city of Lalibela in Ethiopia presents a breathtaking spectacle. It is home to eleven medieval monolithic churches, each hewn from solid rock. The remarkable city of Axum safeguards the memory of legendary events and figures. This is the Queen of Sheba’s land, where stelae with mysterious inscriptions still stand, and where, in one of its sacred sites, people believe the biblical Ark of the Covenant is kept. In the northern Ethiopian city of Gondar, you can still see a well-preserved castle, bathing pools, and the residences of ancient Ethiopian emperors. Over twenty islands dot Lake Tana, Ethiopia’s largest lake and the source of the Blue Nile; each island houses an ancient, secluded Christian monastery. The interior of each of these sanctuaries is uniquely and adorned.

You can find traces of both biblical legends and modern-day cultures in Africa.

We fell in love with Africa for its unique nature and people. The emotions we have experienced here are hard to convey but can be given, that’s why we have dedicated our lives to it. Each point of the route has already been tried by us personally, it remains to make an individual program for you personally.
This is the Zanzibar archipelago, a coral group off the east coast of Tanzania. While it comprises 75 islands, only three are significant: Unguja Island (often simply called Zanzibar), Pemba Island, and Mafia Island.
