Tanzania National Park

  • Land of lions, elephants, and giraffes
  • A royal residence
  • Everlasting beauty

We’re of the same blood,
you and I

In the vast expanse of the Serengeti, one feels a unique connection with nature. Here, the hustle and bustle of everyday life fades away, and a primal desire to become one with the wild takes over. Long-forgotten instincts awaken, and even the most hardened city dweller can hear the quiet call: “We’re of the same blood, you and I.”

The Serengeti is home to over 3,000 lions – the largest population in Africa. The Serengeti contains elephants, giraffes, wildebeests, leopards, zebras, rhinos, gazelles, buffalo, and cheetahs; this area represents the entire fauna of the African continent. And each has its own role to play.

The Serengeti is a stage, and the animals are its actors. Some animals play leading roles, others supporting ones, and some remain silent extras, but each occupies its rightful place. The majestic, measured movement of the grand, living mosaic—the genuine wonder of nature, the Great Migration—will be disrupted if even one animal forgets its role or leaves the Serengeti.

Wildebeests, zebras, lions, leopards, and hyenas swirl in a dance as ancient as life itself, with an almost leisurely air. Zebras and wildebeests race in circles, following the rains, while predators follow close behind, eager to snatch their share – because discipline here is strict. Only within their own territory are hunters allowed to hunt. Once a herd of antelope or zebras crosses the boundary, the landowner can only watch them go with hungry eyes.

The stage of the Great Migration you’ll witness depends on when you arrive. In January, the herds approach the southern part of the park to give birth.

In February, the southern Serengeti turns into a nursery – sometimes 7-8 thousand newborns arrive per day. Not all of them survive; they’re easy prey. In March, the antelopes move southwest – the young ones are still too weak.

In April-May, the herds pick up speed and head north, moving along the western border of the Serengeti, passing through the lion’s kingdom – the area where most of the park’s lions live.

June-July is the wildebeests’ mating season. During this time, the herds cross the Grumeti River – a colorful but challenging sight to behold, as this is the park’s most remote area, bordering Kenya.

August-September is the most intense period – the crossing of the Mara River, which flows along the border of two countries – Kenya and Tanzania – and two reserves – Maasai Mara and Serengeti. Therefore, those who want to witness this moment of the Great Migration head to Maasai Mara.

The wildebeest’s return to the lush northern Serengeti pastures occurs in October. South again is where they head in November. By December, they reach the southern edge, and the great cycle starts over.

Serengeti Under Canvas

A sense of extraterrestrial civilization

Five times a year – the number of stages of the Great Migration – the camp moves from place to place, so there’s plenty to see whenever you come here. The simple canvas tents are decorated with true oriental luxury: fluffy carpets, fine chandeliers, soft sofas, tables set with silver and crystal, huge beds. The cuisine and beverages are beyond praise, and a caring personal butler will make sure that everything from the morning tea to the ashtray on the table is done and placed just the way you like it.

Serengeti Four Seasons

Perched atop a commanding rise, the lodge offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding terrain. Elephants at the watering hole, predators on the hunt, grazing antelope – all of this unfolds before your eyes, whether you’re relaxing in your room, unwinding at the bar, or soaking up the sun by the pool. The rooms have spotlights, and we’ve hooked up a television to a camera that focuses on the watering hole, letting you experience the savanna’s drama from your suite. Here, they cater to every guest’s individual tastes and desires.

Serengeti Bushtops Camp

A sense of extraterrestrial civilization

Each room is a private luxury tented tent on stilts. For you a huge four-poster bed, a whirlpool bathtub and a personal butler. The cuisine is worthy of the best chefs in Europe. All meals can be served either in the main restaurant or on your own veranda or in the garden. Spa treatments are performed using the finest natural oils – baobab or South African fynbos. Kemp welcomes all year round, but the best time to visit and watch the Great Migration is from August to October.

Roving Bushtops

A sense of extraterrestrial civilization

Want to experience a nomadic life in an untouched natural setting, yet with all the familiar comforts? Welcome to Roving Bushtops.
In this small camp, nestled in the vast expanse of the Serengeti National Park, you’ll find something that no luxury hotel can offer. An hourly change of scenery and experiences. This easily movable camp relocates across the savannah following the animals several times a year. Each tent has its own dedicated vehicle, allowing you to decide when and in which direction you want to go on a safari.

Olakira Migration Camp

A sense of extraterrestrial civilization

At Olakira Migration Camp, the African sky is your roof. The thin but sturdy netting of the tent allows you to gaze at it as long as you like. And when astronomical observations get boring, you can spend time around the campfire with delicious food and pleasant conversation. Days in the camp are even more interesting. From June to November you can see the most dramatic episode of the Great Migration – the crossing of gnu and zebras across several deep lakes.

Mwiba Lodge

A sense of extraterrestrial civilization

On one of the slopes of the Rift Valley lurks Mwiba Lodge, a private reserve of approximately 50,000 hectares. The nature here is unspoiled and majestic. The ten suites leave you feeling spacious, airy and cozy. Large, bright rooms finished in wood, genuine leather and cashmere, huge baths and outdoor showers. Add to that superb cuisine and a private car with a guide driver, spa and gym, helicopter tours and night safaris (except day safaris), and powerful Wi-Fi.

Klein’s Camp

A sense of extraterrestrial civilization

The camp consists of ten cottages in “African vintage” style: palm leaf roofs, whitewashed walls made of local stone, wooden floors. Restrained, but cozily furnished rooms, open veranda with a fireplace and comfortable armchairs, from which you can enjoy a delightful view. Rest can be combined with health benefits: unique spa procedures with a complex of natural local ingredients are at your disposal. Special entertainment for children will not be boring.

Grumeti Serengeti Tented Camp

A sense of extraterrestrial civilization

On the bank of a small river tributary stand ten spacious tents, whose interior combines the simplicity and brightness of country with royal chic. For nature lovers, this is an earthly paradise. The river is home to many crocodiles and hippos. Local hippos are recognized as the largest in the world and you can watch them right from your room. The restaurant deserves special attention. All food is cooked in stone jiko roasters or on fires. Butler service and babysitting for children are available.
