Lodges are refined nature retreats, typically featuring up to 70 rooms, located within or at the edge of a reserve.
Camps offer an even more exclusive setting—expansive, permanent canvas suites outfitted with every modern comfort, exquisite European cuisine, and often positioned in the most enviable locations, such as riverbanks or private reserves. The finest camps are intentionally intimate, with only 10-20 suites, ensuring an unparalleled level of personalized service.
The already established term – Glamping – in Africa may not mean exactly what you imagine. Permanent tents with all amenities are more commonly called just a Camp, while Glamping is glamorous camping – a mobile camp for visiting inaccessible wild places where there are no other options. There is more local flavor, and the experience of the discoverers of Africa, like colonial-era hunters, impeccable service and local beauty will justify all the inconveniences. Yes, dinner over a campfire, but with a master chef and with perfect serving. Yes, a shower from a bucket, but the water will be heated, and the bucket with a shower head will be suspended above you in a special tarpaulin booth. Yes, you will spend the night in a tent, but it will be a spacious tent-marquee with morning coffee in bed.

The main reason people go to Africa is for jeep safaris. Specially equipped jeeps allow you not only to travel between national parks, but also to get close to wild animals in comfort and safety. The jeeps are equipped with long-range radio communication, which allows guides to share the most interesting finds with each other, and a rising roof or hatches allow you to stand in the cabin in full growth to observe the animals in their natural habitat. But although jeeps are well adapted to African roads, the road itself takes a very long time. It is faster and more convenient to fly to the reserve by plane and use an open luxury safari jeep based in the park.

We favor the Cessna Grand Caravan 208B, an 8 to 12-seater, impeccably designed for landing on exclusive bush airstrips. An hour’s flight eliminates the need for six hours on the road and presents the opportunity to witness Africa’s landscapes from an elevated perspective. While scheduled flights are efficient, they impose certain restrictions—best avoided by opting for private charters or helicopters.
